Plastimagen opens in Mexico City; 30,000 visitors expected
The exhibition displays new developmentos on raw materials, conversion machines, additives, molds and components used in the plastics processing industry March, 8, 2016 - Plastimagen international trade fair of the plastic industry and business forum is holding its 20th edition from 8 to 11 March at the Centro Banamex in Mexico City. Plastimagen is recognized as one of the most important events in Latin American for the plastics industry. It will present industrial innovations in products and services from over 850 companies coming from more than 25 countries. It expects the visit of approximately 30,000 professionals from the plastics industry. The event will display a wide range of raw materials, additives, masterbatches and other materials as well as machinery and equipment for plastic processing, such as injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, thermoforming, rotational molding, foaming, and calendering. The organizers emphasize that "Plastics are already an important element in many industries and the option of replacing parts made of other materials with plastics components in industries such as automotive, medical devices, construction, packaging, agricultural, household appliances and others is becoming more relevant, so that the increasing use of plastics as one of the most important raw materials has improved the competitiveness of many companies". A special area dedicated to agroplastics will highlight applications of plastics which have been helping the productivity of agricultural crops. There will also be a particular attention given to environmental-friendly solutions such as recycling, biodegradable plastics, clean technologies and renewable raw materials such as bioplastics made from biomass sources, maize starch and even algae. Production cells displaying Industry 4.0 features and applications will highlight the advances in injection molding technologies. Injection Molds made of top materials, designed to provide high quality parts and productivity, will also be on display, as well as dies for extrusion lines and molds for blow molding applications. Additionally, Plastimagen will feature solutions in process control, services for plastics conversion, specialized financial services, and other services and high-tech products recently introduced to the market. The exhibition is also a meeting platform for professionals interested in making business contacts and establish strategic alliances. Thousands of specialists and high-level industrial decision makers will attend the show, which will also feature a program of conferences where experts are going to present new trends, market overviews and investment opportunities and possibilities. The educational activities will start on Tuesday, March 8. A program focused on sustainability applied to plastics will comprise issues such as environmental management, waste management, life-cycle assessment, recycling, bioplastics, accelerated biodegradation, reintegration into nature and the extended responsibility of the manufacturer. The second day of the conference will focus on cutting-edge applications in relevant industries, such as automotive, aerospace, biotechnology, smart packaging, electrical and electronics, nanotechnology, additives and compounds. The third day session will be dedicated to extrusion and blow technologies, including raw materials, coextrusion processes, lamination, molecular biorientación and improvement of physical and chemical properties. The conferences will close on Friday with a discussion of innovations, technologies and processes in plastic injection molding.
