• Brazil (one of the BRIC Countries) is the main economy in Latin America and the 8th largest economy in the world.

• GDP = USD 2.33 trillion in 2024 (FMI estimate); (3.2 % Growth in 2024); Population: 203 million inhabitants (6th largest wordlwide)

• It has the largest territory in the region and the fifth largest worldwide (8.5 million square meters)

• Language: Portuguese

• Currency: Real (R$) (1 U$ = 5.83 R$ on February, 28, 2025); Inflation rate: 4.83 % in 2024

• Brazil has large mineral reserves of iron, bauxite, copper, nickel, manganese, uranium and other ores.

• Off-shore oil reserves rank Brazil among the 10 countries with largest oil reserves worldwide.

• Brazil is a major exporter of aircraft, machinery, iron ore, steel, textiles, footwear, beef, tropical fruits and agricultural commodities.

• Brazil also has had a very successful program to use ethanol (sugarcane -derived) as a fuel in the automotive industry. Ethanol program has been successfully operating for more than 30 years.

• Most of the power consumed in Brazil comes from Hydroelectricity (which is a clean source of energy).
