Brazilian Plastics Exhibitions shake up the market

March, 20, 2017 - Eroded by two years of recession, the Brazilian economy shows signs of recovery. Still amid political uncertainties, the packaging sector has recorded consistent growth in the number of purchase orders - a barometer of the economy - in the latest weeks.

Plastics companies are cautiously optimistic about an increase in sales in the coming months, and two Plastics Exhibitions taking place in São Paulo seize the moment to stimulate new deals and investments in the industry towards a new cycle of growth.

Plastico Brasil, a new exhibition promoted by Abimaq (the Brazilian Association of Plastics Machinery Manufacturers), Abiquim (the Brazilian Association of the Chemical Industry), and organized by Informa Exhibitions is taking place in São Paulo at São Paulo Expo Exhibition Center, from March 20 to 24. The fair is displaying new developments from local and international machine and auxiliary equipment manufacturers, in addition to exhibits of raw material suppliers and service providers to the plastics industry.

Simultaneous events are taking place in parallel to Plastico Brasil such as seminars on Industry 4.0 and Energy efficiency. Workshops on sustainability and PVC-made furniture are scheduled, as well as demonstrations on Recycling, at the Recicla Plastico Brasil space, and SMED (Single minute exchange of dies). An international conference on PET (PETtalk) also occurs during the period of the exhibition, which is also housing an international Business Round up. Plastico Brasil also helds the "Arena Tecnica", a space where industry specialists present conferences on relevant topics related to the plastics and rubber sector.

According to the organizers, 400 brands are on display at the fair. They expect the visit of 40,000 buyers, converters and professionals of the plastics industry during the 5-days exhibition period.

Feiplastic exhibition (photo), the traditional plastics fair held in São Paulo every two years, has moved to a new venue at Expo Center Norte. It will take place from April 3 to 7, and promises to deliver new developments on raw materials from international resin manufacturers and additive suppliers, as well as from machine and equipment manufacturers, tool makers and service providers to the industry. The exhibition is organized by Reed Exhibitions Alcantara Machado with the support of the Brazilian Association of Plastics Processors (Abiplast) and Siresp (São Paulo State Union of Plastics Resin Manufacturers)

The traditional Reciclar Operation will again occur during the fair along with a content-oriented event, the Feiplastic Forum, which will be opened by reknown author and conferencist George S. Everly with a conference on Resilience in the organisations. The Forum will also present conferences on Plastics Innovations in the Construction, Automotive and Packaging Industries, as well as on Sustainability and Technology. Other activities taking place during the fair include the "Arena do Conhecimento", a space where exhibitors will talk about their products, technologies and services, as well as the 'Área da Inovação", where sponsoring companies (Braskem, Wortex,Cromex, Dow and Haitian) will display their latest developments and innovations.

The organizers expect 66,000 visitors from plastics industry and the estimated exhibition space is above 60,000 square meters.
