Dynisco Launches New Temperature Controllers at NPE 2015

March, 16, 2015 - Versatile and economical, the new 1496 and 1498 temperature controllers from Dynisco (NPE 2015, Booth W4544) can meet heat-only control, heat/cool control or indicator-only applications on plastics extruders. The new controllers are among several new products being introduced by Dynisco at NPE 2015. The international plastics exhibition is being held March 23 – 27, in Orlando, Fla.

“At this year’s NPE, Dynisco will display a record number of new products,” says Bill Desrosiers, Vice President of Business Development. “Showcasing our new, award-winning, sustainable sensors, line extending controllers, and upgraded analyzer line demonstrates our commitment to the plastics industry and explains why we've been a leader for more than 60 years. We look forward to sharing our excitement with visitors.”

The 1496 and 1498 Series Temperature Controllers offer an economical solution to precision temperature control of extruders. With two DIN sizes and multiple output configurations, the controllers are suitable for twin and single screw extruders. Both can be configured for heat-only control in die and adapter zones, or for control of both heating and cooling in barrel zones.

The 1496 (1/16 DIN format) & 1498 (1/8 DIN format) Series can also be used in an indicator-only mode. Because these instruments offer three default parameter sets – for heat only, heat/cool, and indicator only – they have the flexibility needed to suit all extrusion applications. Users can configure the instrument with up to three alarms, selected from a range of process alarms (process-high, process-low, SP deviation, band, logical OR / AND), as well as loop alarms to ensure process control security. All process alarms have adjustable hysteresis.

The 1496 and 1498 Series accept a full range of thermocouple inputs as well as three-wire resistance temperature detector (RTD) inputs. Communications are accomplished via RS-485 using the Modbus TCP protocol.
