Preparations underway for Greenplast 2025 in Milan; Promaplast and AMI Join Forces for a Trade Show and Conference Dedicated to the Sustainability of PlasticsPromaplast and AMI Join Forces for a Trade Show and Conference Dedicated to the Sustainability of Plastics October, 22, 2024 - Following the success of the first edition in 2022, which saw the participation of 170 exhibitors (80% Italian, 20% from abroad) across a net area of 6,000 square metres, attracting over 20,000 visitors from 55 countries, Greenplast - the international trade show and conference dedicated to materials, technologies, and processes for the transformation of plastics and rubber, with a particular focus on environmental sustainability and energy efficiency is back for a return engagement in 2025. Decarbonization, circular economy, recycling, reuse, and micro- and nanoplastics are just some of the topics of relevance in the plastics industry. They are increasingly featured in the news and have a significant impact on public opinion. It is thus indispensable to keep up to date on market trends and innovations in materials, products, processes, and production technology because real changes are underway and we have to stay abreast of them. The event, which will take place from 27 to 30 May 2025 at Fiera Milano in Rho Pero, Italy, is once again part of The Innovation Alliance: four trade fairs - Ipack-Ima, Print4All, Intralogistica Italia, and Greenplast - that will be held simultaneously, occupying nearly the entire exhibition centre, with free circulation for visitors across all pavilions. Moreover, Greenplast is further strengthened by the collaboration with AMI (Applied Market Information), which will coordinate the conference section. A Strategic Partnership AMI, a recognised leader in events and market information, will oversee the Greenplast 2025 conference in collaboration with the event organiser, Promaplast. The duration will be 4 days, from the afternoon of 27 May to the morning of 30 May. This cooperation will ensure a programme with high-level technical sessions and content, illustrating the sector's challenges through an innovative and future-oriented approach. Focus on Sustainability The conference will explore the challenges and solutions for the sustainability of plastics, focusing on the most strategic sectors and analysing recent regulations and innovations in waste management, encompassing companies operating in this field. Round tables will be organised with the participation of brand owners, major retailers, raw material producers, converters, etc., with a focus not only on packaging but also on automotive and construction industries, where plastics are widely used. Topics will range from waste management to mechanical and chemical recycling, from the ecodesign of plastic products to the future of bioplastics, from marine pollution to the use of AI to improve environmental impact. AMI's expertise in recycling and sustainability, combined with Promaplast's organisational capacity, will further strengthen Greenplast 2025, offering industry professionals unique opportunities for high-level updates and networking. Greenplast debuted in 2022 with the precise goal of embracing these issues that are now fundamental to the entire plastics and rubber industry. It is the first Italian exhibition/convention for the sector, focusing on sustainability and energy efficiency, organized by Amaplast (Italian association of machinery and moulds manufacturers for plastics and rubber) through its operating company Promaplast, which is also the organizer of Plast. Following up on the successful first edition, applications are now being accepted to the second edition. The collaborative relationship among all the players in the supply chain will accelerate the transition to a circular economy of plastics, reductions in harmful emissions, and the promotion of a more sustainable use of the material, which is indispensable for many areas of the economy and able to play a fundamental role in achieving sustainability and maintaining the competitiveness of the Italian industrial system. The compound annual growth rate (CAGR) for the various applications of recycled materials shows very positive dynamics and potentials for development in all sectors. This initiative is designed to promote and facilitate opportunities for contact, networking, and development, laying out the full panorama of the industry to visitors and leveraging the complementary nature of the four sectors: plastics and rubber; packaging and packing; printing and converting; and logistics
